- Econ grad schools should add as a requirement for the PhD that students take a recent published experiment and attempt to replicate it.
- Not accepting American Express is a local public good. Because once enough of them do it, I stop expecting that it will be accepted and stop offering it on the first try.
- Homosexuality is a puzzle for evolution not because of the question “how does it survive despite not reproducing?” Because for a gene reproduction *is* survival. The puzzle is “how do they reproduce despite not wanting to?”
- Books get made into films all the time, why do poems rarely get made into pop songs?
- Why is it easier to apologize when the offended party isn’t actually upset?

If the offended party isn’t really upset, then there is no risk involved. Normally apologies involve a small amount of risk that the offended party will either reject your apology or, more likely, fake-accept it but still think less of you.
Btw, I think #4 is an excellent point. People should really get on this. The closest I can think of an example of this is the band Phish, who have an external lyric-writer. The guy just writes lots of poems and sometimes Phish turns them into songs.

Dear R GurungThank you very much for your commment rgeirdang the Charity dinner. We reapect everyone views. We all know what is the value of money and what can be happened if we misuse it. In this mordern world we are very concious of money, however this is the only little contribution from ours side just to show little generousity towards ours village. It doesn’t mean any thing to our village school comparing with the contribution made by the Japanese prefesor Ozawa towards our village education, its something like tip a drop of water in the sea. If you think our school is wealthy enough to stand on its own feet than what will happen in the case of natural disarter or mankind error, it is therefore we have to think about the contigences meansures. If you are well prepared for it then at the end of the day you will find it easy to cope with such kind of situation. Recently Mr Jodha bahadur Gurung and Cpt Bhuwansing Gurung made huge contrbution towards development of village education. I think development is not a love history but its a long lasting proccess.Thank y0u

The very heart of your writing while aprnapieg reasonable at first, did not settle perfectly with me after some time. Somewhere throughout the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer but only for a while. I still have a problem with your leaps in logic and one might do well to help fill in those breaks. In the event that you can accomplish that, I will undoubtedly end up being fascinated.

In no additional field of our economic system may some hrs Quotes Chimp may invest looking over this website decrease defeat such money savings, give and remove stresses while, simultaneously, getting underwriters to become much more sensitive. It seems sensible to take part in this means of self education because most of us need to spend plenty of hrs annually at the office to make the funds due to their premium accounts.

#3 Evolution.
I found this article about slave ants and how LESS aggressiveness is an evolutionary tool. http://www.ugr.es/~oli/2003_Sociobiology.pdf
Less aggressive ants “slave” antes suffer less casualties during the “conquest” and are treated better by their masters. The key here is that the “masters” always succeed conquering the “slaves.
If we think that the probability of success is smaller than 1 (and close to zero), then it might be that MORE aggressiveness is an evolutionary tool: the more aggressive “slaves” will succeed defending their colony with greater probability and then, grow more. (If free ants reproduce faster than slave ants).

(There should be a point of probability of success such that the two effects counteract each other, so that aggressiveness is neutral for survival).

I always enjoy these posts.
5. An apology is lowering your own status. It’s harder to do apologize to angry people because they might not respond graciously.
3. There are explanations that avoid both phrasings of the question. Perhaps homosexuality is analogous to mutations that cause sickle-cell anemia. If you’re born with “a little bit” of the sickle-cell, then you’re malaria resistant. This promotes sickle-cell in the population even though, sometimes, children will be born with too much sickle-cell, and then they are damaged by the gene.
All that said, the right question might be “why do genes that carry the risk of giving your children homosexuality allow you to have more kids?” To my eyes, homosexuality looks like a side-effect of humans playing a mixed strategy game against other humans.

3. It seems to me there may be a benefit to /families/ with homosexuals. Historically, the extended family has had a much larger role in raising children then now, so having a small number of people who have no kids of their own would give the entire unit more flexibility. This is an evolutionary way to ensure that latitude. A gay man’s sister who benefited from that and had the gene as well would pass it on. So the real question would be, why have we suppressed that benefit?

Re #4. I can think of at least 1 book being made into a song (but not, as yet, a movie) and 1 psalm. No poems. though.
Is it a copyright issue? Or is it that good song writing is poetry anyway? Or, as suggested by a colleague, poetry rythmn and timing can be quite complex and does not easily lend itself to being paired with music.

Greg Cochran would dispute your assumption that there is a genetic cause, and hence that they must be reproducing (or implausibly causing enough additional reproduction among relatives).
