La Casas Bonita is an institution known worldwide, at least by fans of south park.

re changing your mind – great point – the upside is when it is done can be effective form of counter-signaling.

The best food I had during my one month stay in Denver was at Tastes Wine Bar and Bistro, but that was two years ago so I don’t know how they’re doing now. For an adventuresome meal the Buckhorn Exchange is classic; I took a date there for Rocky Mountain oysters (it went well!) and there’s lots of game on the menu and taxidermy on the walls. We were sated by the mountain oysters and didn’t try anything else though. For a higher end game experience try The Fort in Morrison, CO, but I haven’t been there in over a decade so no promises.
You are in luck for coffee: Fluid Coffee Bar is my favorite, and the Novo Coffee locations are good too. If you are into beer go to Falling Rock Taphouse. If you are into Scotch don’t miss Pints Pub. For a hipster hangout with grappa and a coffee shop next door with bad coffee but free wi-fi, try the Thin Man.

There are lots of good restaurants in Denver so it depends on what you want. Mexican is always good here, Taqueria Patzcuaro, Jack’n’Grill, and La Loma from least to most expensive. Also on the cheap end if you want something different is Tocabe which wants to do for Native American fry bread what Chipotles (a Denver original) did for burritos. Moving up the cost curve, there are dozens of pretty good restaurants in Highlands or Lodo. I can recommend the Argyll Pub, Osteria Marco or Vesta Dipping Grill. At the top end, Elway’s is the top steakhouse and Kevin Taylors or the Brown Palace are the top end.
