- Its a great way to avoid getting distracted from my work. I write something at night and then the next morning I am forced to avoid email, twitter, and web surfing in order to shut out all the nasty things people are saying about me in response.

Thanks for helping me to expand this list. Why I read intelligent blog (i.e., this one)? 1.Reading blogs brings less feeling of guilt than watching a youtube video when I have attention deficiency. 2. Reading blogs helps me to transit from the mood of a stupid youtube video to doing serious research. 4. Reading blogs gives me content to fill out the last 10 minutes of my lecture when I am under-prepared. 5. Reading papers takes too much time…
